It is time we spring cleaned our prices! Spreadshirt has continually added new features and products over the last five years, the pricing has become more and more complex. We would like to introduce a new structure, that will make our prices easier to understand for both shop-owners and customers alike. And also considerably cheaper.

All our foils, including those that sparkle; glitter or glow in the dark, will have one standard price from 6th of May 2008. This is also true for printing complex designs. All designs will cost the same - regardless of their complexity. Last but not least, the extra cost for additional lines of text is being abolished. You can now sport up to five lines of text on your chest at the fixed price of just £2/3 ?!

The new pricing structure is working with a base price of £2/3 ? for a single colored design or 5 lines of text in one color. To this 2,50 ? or £1,70 is added for every extra color.

So no extra costs for:

Specialty flex ------- OLD 1,50/3,- E or 1,-/2,- £ --- NEW --> 0,-
Complex designs --- OLD 2,50/6,- E or 2,-/4,- £ --- NEW --> 0,-
Extra lines of text --- OLD 0,50 E or 0,30 £ --------- NEW --> 0,-

Of course it will still be possible to place a second design, or a second text on the product. The base price for that second element will then also be £2/3 ?, and extra colors again 2,50 ? or £1,70.

PS. The conversion to the new price structure will begin on the 6th of May, but since there is a huge amount of data to process, it will probably take some 48 hours to complete.

If you have any questions, or if anything is unclear, please let us know. thanks!

So our current productprices that we have in our shops will change automatically?

I would assume so Mel. Only thing we probably have to do (*sigh, but it's OK if it doesn't happen too often*) is to go in and change all our product prices to reflect the new pricing structure.. Meaning that if all your products are priced at £19.90 .. And prices drop .. You might experience prices such as £19.60 .. £17.40 etc. :-)

But on the plus side.. If you adjust your prices up slightly, you'll make a little more money for yourself.. :-D Always a good thing!

Thank you Spreadshirt! :-)

@ Eyerock, yes that's true.
But if you have a few shops you have to do it a few times....

Indeed you do.. :-D But hey, if it helps you earn a little more per t-shirt.. That should be a great motivator! (Although I'm not really looking forward to plow through thousands of products..) ;-)

I guess with a really thought-out approach and by using the "filter"-function this task could get much less tiresome.

Of course the prices of your products will change automatically. But it will take up to 48 hours as I said... :)

This is great news. I think that the design pricing was a little mess but now it will be more clear. :)

Does it also mean that all design prices will change in the designer?

thanks

Specialty flex ------- OLD 1,50/3,- E or 1,-/2,- £ --- NEW --> 0,-
Complex designs --- OLD 2,50/6,- E or 2,-/4,- £ --- NEW --> 0,-
Extra lines of text --- OLD 0,50 E or 0,30 £ --------- NEW --> 0,-

This means you won't pay any extra money for speciality foils, for complexity of designs or extra text-lines any more.

So far foils like glitter foils have been more expensive than the normal flex/flock foils. They now all have the same price!

So far designs were either normal, complex or super complex (internal ranks which you didn't see) with the latter two having an extra charge of 2,50 or 6 EUR. Now every design, no matter how complex, has the same base price. This complexity was due to the extra work when preparing the design for printing by isolating all the elements inside the design.

For the text, you had an extra charge of 0,50 EUR for every extra line in a text-element. That's gone.

Everything clear?

Good initiative. Compared to Shirtcity (for examle) Spreadshirt seems more expensive to customers and therefore it might me more appealing for them to order there instead at Spreadshirt.

As stated in the first post it is planned for 6th May and then will take 2 days to fully update our databases...

Hmmmm, 2 days. A long time, but OK if managed correctly.

What I didn't expect though was inconsistencies in my shop. Any shirt where the customer can change the text is currently showing the "old" price, but as soon as you click on it and go to the mini-confomat to change the text, it updates to the reduced price.

OK, it's a lower price, but inconsistent pricing scares customers away :(

Joerg

That's right. During the time of the price-changes any products opened in a confomat will be corrected. These inconsistencies will disappear during the next two days.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Wohooo!! 2500++ price changes later.. I'm happy now, really! Took me probably somewhere like 5-6 hours to go through it all and correct the prices, but I believe in the end it'll all be worth it. I really love the new price structure. Makes everything more standardized etc. Thank you Spreadshirt! :-)

OK, now I am really confused.

The issue with inconsistent prices for text items is now resolved, and the complex design charge has been removed from the relevant products/designs.

But now I have an issue with "normal" designs.

All the existing shirts in my shop with a 2 colour design on them are base price + 4UKP.

If I go to create a new product with a 2 colour design it's base price + 3.70 UKP

Is the price in the designer correct, or the products in my shop incorrect?

I'm not changing any prices, or creating new products until this is clarified. Loads of work I don't want to do twice!

This is really strange. I reported it and hope it gets solved soon. Sorry about that.

So which of those pricing strategies is correct Alexander?

Definately the new one, 10.60 Pounds.

We still have some problems with the pricechange, there will be another run of updates because of this later today, please give me feedback here if this solved your problems.

I feel sorry for those who have already done this once and now need to check all their products again................EYEROCK, are you reading this?
